red
a red dress should be very simple, worn in, it's color a little bit muted.
for nearly every film i made something red, now i would like to have a dress for myself.
i can't help it, i like how that color stands out!

winterlight
this morning and minus 12° C. soft winterlight on my rooms wall and L's.
finally an opportunity to show the carpet i brought from romania and the shoes. we both really love to wear them when at home, even Lou who never ever wanted to wear anything on her feet inside.
i was planning to post about the beautiful romanian handmade garments/embroideries i saw during my short visit but i have been in such a rush the few hours i had on my own so my pictures turned out bad and they are hard to edit so meanwhile i'll post this link international wardrobe
have a wonderful fourth of advent.

gingerbread
my first gingerbread dough ever. our first self made gingerbreadhouse together.
the house collapsed once but now it is stable, Lou made the bed and the table that is hiding in the backyard.
like the little gingerbreadmen looking out of the window, we are all waiting for snow, this morning there have been some very shy little flakes.
some of the beautiful gingerbread i brought from romania

Romania
a film studio in bucharest, some days before a big party was held and apparently nobody found the time to clear up the beautiful handmade dishes until today. they rested under a green blanket.
one can even find beauty in the making of a commercial film shooting here.
i am looking forward to see some of the real city tomorrow before i am going back home.
i nearly forgot how invigorating another culture could be, i have to confess i am completely enthusiastic and lunatic!

Ida II
this lady is about my age and loves to wear exquisite garments cause the only thing i did as a child was making clothes for her and changing her outfit constantly.
she was made by my mother and today Lou made a "Rodarte" piece for her, she refused to even try on the crocheted one i found for her, maybe she finally get's a little bit spoiled!

small steps
still have to keep it small with renovation and change.
instead piles of papers with countless numbers should be found, organized in columns, added and squeezed into a certain big number to finally finish that monster of a job i did!
i am dreaming about making things like above way bigger and there are some good news too, i am on the short list for the teaching job i've been applying for last year.
now waiting for the final decision gets a little bit easier, maybe.
+ + +
i like this piece of art. it's called "better days" and the stains are embroidered.

we had time to sort out this beautiful old memory-game i discovered recently, not all pairs still complete.
and thats how Lou's room looked like after shifts of different weekend visitors stopped over since friday.

an adventurous week with my girl, at work in hamburg.
despite the poor girl getting sick, me still recovering, a lot of work and mostly bad weather we enjoyed most of it.
good friends, a huge garden with two donkeys for a while, her first ride en galoppe, cinema, a night in a hotel, a surprisingly beautiful museum, my costume department supporting me every day and my very patient daughter made it a good week.

neon
this sweater combines different shades of neon with beige, found at a fleamarket, handmade for a grandchild that grew out, Lou never likes to be photographed, but today i caught her.
she chose this heavy yarn in the wool shop, starting her first real crocheting, we made a mice out of it and a second one for her cousin too, he called it cheesenumber.
